Leidos Field At Ripken Stadium Holds Ribbon Cutting Ceremony For New Turf

The Aberdeen Ironbirds kick off their 2021 season next month and they are excited to share some new changes at the stadium with their fans.  On Monday, April 26, 2021, the Aberdeen Ironbirds owners Cal Ripken, Jr. and Billy Ripken welcomed local government officials and  select team partners to the field as General Manager Jack Graham and Cal proudly announced the new improvements and spoke about the upcoming season.  A dedication and ribbon-cutting ceremony followed the announcements.

The most noticeable change guests will see at the ballpark is the all-new turf field. It is truly a beautiful sight! The installation of the turf field will allow the stadium to host community events during the off-season and non-game days without the risk of damaging the field while being environmentally friendly.  In addition to the field, new LED lights have been installed to give a better viewing experience for the guests and team.

The season officially starts on May 4th, with the first home game taking place on May 18th. Individual game tickets are on sale now. Please visit http://aberdeenironbirds.com/.

A huge thank you to the Aberdeen Ironbirds for having us out to the dedication and ribbon-cutting ceremony. GO IRONBIRDS!
